Your service pages are the real money pages

The pages everyone ignores are the ones doing the selling.

Most small business sites treat service pages like an obligation: a short paragraph, a stock photo, a contact link. Then everyone wonders why the homepage does all the work and converts none of it. Here is the uncomfortable truth. People searching with intent are not looking for your homepage. They are looking for the specific thing they need, in the specific place they need it. That is a service page.

One page, one job

A service page has one job: convince a searcher that you do this exact thing, here, and that contacting you is the obvious next step. That means the page needs to actually say what the service includes, who it is for, what the process looks like and what happens after someone reaches out. Two sentences and a phone number is not a service page. It is a placeholder.

Local intent is won on specifics

Search engines and answer engines both reward pages that are specific about place. Not stuffed with city names, but genuinely grounded: the areas you serve, the problems common to local customers, the details only someone who actually works here would know. Generic copy ranks generically, which is to say, not at all.

  • Give each core service its own page with real detail, not a bullet in a list.
  • Answer the questions customers actually ask about that service, on the page.
  • Connect each service page to your contact path with one clear next step.
  • Review the pages twice a year. Stale service pages quietly cost you leads.
